1.6A動態電池充電器/電源管理芯片

      為移動消費電子產品提供電源管理半導體器件的開發商Analogictech有限公司(納斯達克: AATI)日前宣布,推出一款產品編號為AAT3670的高度集成1.6A動態電池充電器與電源管理芯片。該款高度智能型器件將一個電池充電器、限(xian)流(liu)負載開關電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)路及(ji)控制(zhi)電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)路集成(cheng)于一體,適用(yong)于由單塊(kuai)鋰離(li)子/聚(ju)合物電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)池供(gong)電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)的(de)便攜(xie)式系統,并在不(bu)損害電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)池的(de)充電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)壽命周期以(yi)及(ji)無需添加外置負載開關的(de)情況下(xia),允許使用(yong)者在通過一個AC適配器或(huo)USB端口給電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)池充電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)同時(shi),運行(xing)他們的(de)系統。AAT3670可向電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)池提供(gong)盡(jin)可能(neng)最高的(de)充電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)流(liu),從(cong)而能(neng)夠讓消費者以(yi)盡(jin)可能(neng)最短的(de)充電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)時(shi)間來完成(cheng)充電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)。 

  “便攜式系(xi)(xi)統設(she)計(ji)師想要在(zai)系(xi)(xi)統運行的同(tong)時(shi)(shi),保證電(dian)(dian)池在(zai)最(zui)大的有用電(dian)(dian)流下(xia)充電(dian)(dian),他們必須將此(ci)功能特(te)性(xing)設(she)法設(she)計(ji)進帶(dai)有單立元件的系(xi)(xi)統內。”AnalogicTech產品線(xian)主管Bill Weiss說。“AAT3670通過連續(xu)監控系(xi)(xi)統運行當中(zhong)的功率需求,據此(ci)自動調節(jie)充電(dian)(dian)電(dian)(dian)流,這樣就為電(dian)(dian)池提供(gong)了(le)盡可能最(zui)高的充電(dian)(dian)電(dian)(dian)流,并因此(ci)使電(dian)(dian)池充電(dian)(dian)時(shi)(shi)間最(zui)短化。另外,它還減少了(le)元器件的使用數量,降低了(le)原料(liao)成本(BOM),并縮(suo)小(xiao)了(le)印(yin)刷電(dian)(dian)路板(PCB)的尺寸。”

  動態供電電源

  AAT3670通過在電源(yuan)、電池(chi)和系統之間同時進(jin)行(xing)功率的(de)分配(pei)管理,可(ke)為系統負載提供(gong)動態的(de)供(gong)電電源(yuan)。如果系統負載電流大于(yu)來自AC適配(pei)器或USB端口可(ke)提供(gong)的(de)輸入(ru)電源(yuan)電流,AAT3670可(ke)以從電池(chi)中供(gong)應額(e)外(wai)所需。

  一個電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)壓感應電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)荷抑制回路(voltage-sensing charge reducTIon loop)對AC適配器和USB的(de)(de)輸入(ru)電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)壓進(jin)行監控,并(bing)且根據系統負載電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)流(liu)所(suo)需多少,對電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)池(chi)的(de)(de)充(chong)(chong)電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)流(liu)進(jin)行阻截,從而自動(dong)防止電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)壓下跌。此功能僅(jin)通過自動(dong)調節充(chong)(chong)電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)流(liu)到某(mou)一限度就能保持輸入(ru)源(yuan)電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)壓的(de)(de)完(wan)整(zheng)性,同(tong)時還(huan)確保了系統的(de)(de)連(lian)續運行,并(bing)用最短(duan)的(de)(de)時間對電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)池(chi)進(jin)行充(chong)(chong)電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)。

  在重負載狀態下,芯片的內部溫度有可能升高(根據PCB的具體設計情況)。傳統的熱保護電路只是簡單地將熱源關閉。由于AAT3670可向系統提供工作電源,這樣的關閉會被認為是一個故障狀況,所以是不能被允許的。因此,AAT3670內置一個數字熱控回路,它可以測量內部晶圓片的溫度,還可以在晶圓片溫度超出極限值時,降低充電電流。由于不關閉電池充電器,此數字熱控回路會根據一系列的運行狀況,將(jiang)充電(dian)電(dian)流保(bao)持最大。

  對(dui)使(shi)(shi)用(yong)AC適配器(qi)進行(xing)充(chong)(chong)電時,AAT3670所(suo)提供(gong)的(de)電池充(chong)(chong)電電流可以調到(dao)1.6A;對(dui)使(shi)(shi)用(yong)USB高電壓(ya)充(chong)(chong)電,可調到(dao)0.9A;對(dui)使(shi)(shi)用(yong)USB低電壓(ya)充(chong)(chong)電,可調到(dao)0.1A。低的(de)“電池到(dao)系統”(battery-to-system)阻抗可以將(jiang)功耗和電壓(ya)余量(voltage headroom)保持(chi)最小。

  AAT3670可監控電池在各種故障狀態下的溫度和充電狀況,這些故障包括過電壓、短路和超溫。在故障發生時,充電器能(neng)夠(gou)自動關閉以保(bao)護(hu)充電(dian)(dian)設備、控制系(xi)統和電(dian)(dian)池(chi)。一個(ge)電(dian)(dian)池(chi)充電(dian)(dian)器(qi)的(de)計時器(qi)同(tong)樣可以在超(chao)出(chu)用戶所設置的(de)充電(dian)(dian)時長的(de)情況(kuang)下終止充電(dian)(dian),從而保(bao)護(hu)了電(dian)(dian)池(chi)和系(xi)統。兩個(ge)狀態監控輸出(chu)引腳可通過外接的(de)LED(發光二(er)極管)來(lai)指示電(dian)(dian)池(chi)充電(dian)(dian)狀態。
